As Russian shelling got more intense, Pisecka decided to take a chance and attempt to flee the country in order to be reunited with her family. She and her mother traveled “on an extremely difficult train” from Slovakia in order to see their children again, according on authorities. The Slovakian government confirmed that the family was back together once again.

After all of this, local authorities in both nations expressed their gratitude to police on both sides of the border for assisting with the family’s crossing. “All five siblings are healthy and safe, as well as their mother and grandmother,” said the Slovakian government.
