  3. Secure the dreads with a hair clip or elastic band.¬†Elastic bands or tiny hair clasps can be used to help keep the dreads in place. Apply a rubber band under the ball, near the root of the hair. Make sure you don’t apply them too tightly because it may cause discomfort to the person getting the dreads. [4]
  • If you have medium to coarse hair, skip this step. The tightly coiled hair will not unravel.
