If you’re considering planting your own vegetables this season to save money on increasing food costs, now is the time to prepare a garden plot for planting.

Heidi Wood, horticulturalist for the Town of Stratford, P.E.I., says this is her favorite portion of the gardening season because well-prepared soil is the essential component in producing a flourishing garden for the whole summer.
